Editing Monsters

Monsters are enemies found in ''[[The Consuming Shadow]]''. They usually spawn in dungeons, though can also be found on the side of the road through random events or jobs. Every enemy has different properties, behaviors and ways of harming the player that make them different, with some enemies being more threatening than others.

There are three types of enemies: monsters, [[hunter monster|hunter monsters]] and bosses, the latter of which there is only one, the [[Ancient]]. All normal monsters can be killed, and two of the four hunter monsters can also be killed.

There are few indeed who could claim to have personally faced an Ancient and lived, still fewer who escaped with their mind intact. Accounts exist of strange, illogical dimensions where a 'wall of darkness, like an immeasurable hole in reality' seeks to envelope intruders. Accounts indicate that some ungodly voice in the darkness chants incantations, and that the darkness can be temporarily fended off with the apropriate counter-incantations. Do not humour for an instant the possibility of killing a being so utterly incomprehensible; the most you can do is push it away. But push it far enough and an opportunity to escape may present itself.
