Status Effects are debuffs that occur in game. They can hinder a player's progress through the game.

Occurrences

Status Effects can occur while in dungeons or in your car and are caused by:

  • Sanity loss.
  • Attacks from enemies.
  • Random events

Types

Anxiety

Causes the protagonist’s hands to shake, greatly decreasing accuracy. Cured with time.

Has a chance to occur any time Sanity is lost, whether in a dungeon or from random events while driving.

Can be prevented by having the Tranquilizer Pills item equipped.

Note: As the Warrior uses only melee attacks, this Status Effect has no deleterious effects on him.

Broken Leg

Causes the protagonist to lose sanity when running. Treated at a town hospital for 10 £.

Has a chance to occur any time Health is lost in a fight.

Can be prevented by having the Skater Pads item equipped.

Broken Arm

Causes the protagonist to lose sanity when attacking. Treated at a town hospital for 10 £.

Has a chance to occur any time Health is lost in a fight - can also happen as a random failure of the 'Hold Her' option when encountering an escaped, panicked woman.

Can be prevented by having the Skater Pads item equipped.

Bleeding

Causes the protagonist to lose HP over time, including driving. Will result in death if not treated. Treated at a town hospital for 10 £.

Has a chance to occur any time Health is lost in a fight - can also happen from the 'Smash the Window' option when attempting to help a man with his expensive sports car on the side of the road.

Can be prevented by having the Stabproof Vest item equipped.
